Choosing your first vibrator
Your first vibrator does not need to be the smallest, the strongest or the one with the most buttons. It needs to make sense in your hand and suit the kind of stimulation you actually want.
Begin with one question: what kind of contact do you want? That separates focused external toys from broader wands, insertable shapes and dual-stimulation rabbits before colour, pattern count and app features get a chance to distract you. Choose the contact first
Focused external vibration
A bullet places vibration through a relatively small tip or surface. It is easy to move, simple to pair with fingers or another toy and usually compact enough for a bedside drawer or travel bag.
The Satisfyer Ultra Power Bullet 5 is not a tiny pointed bullet: it has a larger oval shape with a flat contact surface. That is a useful reminder that the category name does not tell you how concentrated the contact will feel. Look at the actual tip and body shape.

Broad external vibration

Use that table to choose a format, then compare products within the same row. A three-speed wand and a twelve-mode rabbit are solving different problems; their mode counts are not a meaningful head-to-head score.
Controls matter more than pattern count
Imagine changing the setting without looking. Can you distinguish the buttons? Can you lower the intensity as easily as you raise it? Is there a clear stop action?

- a gentle first level and room to increase gradually;

Measure the product, then picture the routine
Product photography is poor at showing scale. Draw the listed length and width on paper, or place a ruler beside your hand. For an insertable product, distinguish total length from insertable length. For a wand, compare head diameter and weight. For an air-pulse design, check the overall grip and opening rather than assuming every nozzle is the same.
Then picture the unglamorous parts: charging, washing, drying and storage. Magnetic cables are often model-specific. “Waterproof” and “water-resistant” are not interchangeable, so follow the exact rating and manual. Dry the product and charging contacts completely before reconnecting power.
