Rechargeable sex-toy care: keep it charged and ready
The least seductive sentence in the bedroom might be “Where did I put the charger?” Keep the right cable with the right toy and you have already made the next session easier.
Rechargeable toy care is mostly a simple routine: clean and dry the toy, connect its own cable, watch for the full-charge signal and put everything away together. A few model-specific details make the difference between ready to go and another rummage through the drawer.
Keep the cable with its other half
Use the supplied cable or the replacement specified for your toy. Magnetic leads can look alike while having different contact spacing or connections. A spare that happens to stick is not necessarily the right one.
A small label on the USB end is a remarkably good investment in future happiness. Keep each cable loosely coiled in the toy's pouch or a separate compartment, without bending it sharply around the connector.

Charge in three easy steps
- Switch the toy off and make sure the toy, cable and charging contacts are dry.
- Connect its cable to the power source specified for the model, then check that charging has started.
- Disconnect when the full-charge indicator appears.
Choose a dry, visible spot on a non-flammable surface such as a ceramic tray, away from bedding and sofas. Keep an eye on the charging time; a phone timer saves remembering to come back.
For models that use a USB cable, a suitable phone wall adaptor may be perfectly fine. Match the adaptor to the manufacturer's power requirements and use the correct toy cable. You do not need to buy another wall plug simply because the device is a sex toy.
Charging lights are model specific
One toy flashes while charging; another shows a steady light. Learn the signal for yours once, and you can stop guessing every time.

These are the times for those exact models, not the whole Lovense range. Both should be switched off for charging and disconnected before use.
If it is not charging, start with the connection
Check the power source is on and that you have the correct lead. Look for moisture or residue on the contacts and clean them using the product's care instructions, then let them dry.
Magnetic connectors need to sit in the right position. On Max 2, if the red charging light does not appear, rotate the connector through 180 degrees and reconnect it. For a pin-style connection, use the model's instructions rather than forcing the plug.
If charging still fails, stop swapping random leads and get help with the exact model. A photo of the connection and a description of the light pattern are more useful than “it is the pink one”.
Clean first, charge once it is dry
Water can linger around a removable head, recessed port or charging contact after the outside looks dry. Let everything air dry before plugging in.

Give stored toys an occasional top-up
A rechargeable toy tucked away for months still needs a little attention. Follow its storage interval instead of leaving it forgotten until the next holiday.
For Lush 2 and Max 2, recharge at least once every six months. Other models may use a different interval. Store the toy clean and dry, away from heat and direct sunlight, with the cable where you can find it.
Switch on the travel lock if your toy has one. It saves an unexpectedly lively suitcase and helps keep the charge for when you actually want it.
Retire damaged kit
Stop using or charging a toy with a swollen or leaking battery casing, unusual overheating, or a damaged lead. Contact us or the manufacturer about the next step; opening a sealed toy is not routine maintenance.

How long should I charge a rechargeable sex toy?
