Choosing an app-connected toy without the tech drama
A little control can be a very good thing—especially when you decide who gets it. App-connected toys let you change patterns from your phone, hand the controls to a partner or share a session from different cities.
Choose the sensation first and the clever extras second. A wearable vibrator and a contracting masturbator can use the same app while offering completely different experiences. The best choice is the one you would still want in your hand with the screen switched off.
Start with the toy you actually want

Set it up before the date
Give the first connection a few quiet minutes before you plan to use it:
- Install the correct app from the manufacturer's download link or your phone's app store.
- Check the app listing supports your current phone and operating system.
- Charge the toy, switch on Bluetooth and connect through the app's toy-pairing screen.
- Try a built-in pattern, change intensity and find the stop control.
- For long-distance play, connect with your partner and try the invitation together.

Keep partner invites personal
Decide who is controlling what, and how you will pause or finish, before you start. Keep your phone and the toy's power control within reach.
Lovense offers both contact-based Live Control and shareable Control Links. They work differently: a Control Link lets its recipient use a browser without installing the app. Send one directly to the person you want to invite, choose its duration and delete it when you are finished. An unlimited link can reactivate after a session ends, so ending a session and deleting the link are different actions.
You can also block a contact in Lovense Remote from that contact's settings. Knowing where the controls live makes handing them over much more relaxed.
Give privacy a moment during setup
Use a unique password, review your profile name and picture, and choose what you want showing in lock-screen notifications. Allow camera or microphone access when you want the feature that needs it. Review linked contacts and any active control links before sharing your phone or account.
The app's privacy policy explains account information and data handling. Choose these settings deliberately, just as you would for messaging or video calls, then get on with the fun.
When the connection needs a nudge
Start with the easy fixes: charge the toy, bring the phone closer, check Bluetooth and reopen the app. For a remote session, check that both phones are online and that the toy is connected in its owner's app. Lovense pairing is handled inside Lovense Remote, not by adding the toy through the phone's general Bluetooth menu.
For persistent problems, use the manufacturer's support instructions for the model and phone. Keep the built-in controls in mind too—sometimes the evening can continue perfectly well without custom patterns.

Can an app-controlled toy work without the app?
Many can. Lush 2 has built-in settings, and Max 2 has on-toy controls for vibration and its air pump. The app adds custom and partner features.
Does my partner need to buy a toy too?
Not to control your Lovense toy. They can use Lovense Remote to control yours. Two compatible toys are needed for features that involve both toys responding or syncing together.
Do long-distance toys work in different countries?
Lovense's long-distance control works over the internet rather than by stretching the Bluetooth range. Both phones need internet access, and the toy owner's phone must stay connected to the toy.
Does my partner need the same app?
For standard Lovense Live Control, both people use Lovense Remote accounts. A Control Link is a separate option that lets the invited person connect through a browser.
Can I stop someone controlling my toy?
Yes. Keep the toy's power control available, end the active session and remove any ongoing access. In Lovense Remote, delete reusable Control Links you no longer want and block unwanted contacts in their settings.
